Identifying business visitors to our website

We use Whoisvisiting, a website visitor identification service, to help us understand which organisations are looking at our products.

The service works by taking the IP address of each visit and matching it against a database of business IP ranges. Where a match is found, it tells us the name of the organisation, its sector and location, and which pages were viewed. It is designed to identify organisations, not individuals, and it does not tell us your name, email address or job title.

We use this information to understand which industries and markets are interested in our products, to prioritise our sales and marketing effort, and to improve the content on our website.

IP addresses are treated as personal information under UK data protection law, so we rely on our legitimate interests in business development to process them in this way. You have the right to object to this processing at any time by contacting privacy@respirex.com, and you can prevent it by declining non-essential cookies in our cookie banner.

Transferring your information outside the UK

Some of our service providers are based outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States and the European Economic Area.

Where we transfer your personal information outside the UK, we make sure it is protected by one of the following:

  • the country is covered by UK adequacy regulations, meaning the Government has decided it offers an equivalent standard of protection (this includes the EEA and, for certified organisations, the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework)
  • the transfer is governed by the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with a transfer risk assessment

You can ask us for details of the safeguards applied to any particular transfer by emailing privacy@respirex.com.

How we keep your information secure

We take the security of your information seriously. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including access controls, encryption in transit and supplier due diligence — to protect it against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. While we do everything we reasonably can to protect your information, any information you send us over the internet is sent at your own risk.

We have procedures in place to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and the ICO where we are legally required to do so.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how we use your personal information — which is the purpose of this policy
  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Rectification of information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Erasure of your information in certain circumstances
  • Restrict processing of your information in certain circumstances
  • Data portability — to receive certain information in a machine-readable format
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to object at any time to direct marketing
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on your consent. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it
  • Not be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you. We do not make such decisions

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@respirex.com or write to us at the address above. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.

Complaints. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time:

You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by emailing privacy@respirex.com. We will act on your request promptly.
